For large banks like Wells Fargo and BAC (well over a hundred branches and millions of customers), millions of transactions will undoubtedly be involved. The process will therefore take longer.
The funds will almost certainly be transferred to your bank on Monday or 19th of the month if the paycheck is due to be deposited on Tuesday or the 20th of the month.
The account will most likely show as "pending" when you check it online at this point, which will most likely be on Monday or the 19th. This will likely be the case until the nightly posting routine processes all of the transactions, at which point the account will be called "Posted."
